I hold a Dell computer, not sure about the exact model but my dad purely installed a new and better video card today. The problem is that whenever I play any team game, for e.g. World of Warcraft, the gameplay is very choppy and slow even though the graphics appear to be slightly better.
How can I fix this?

well, exotic or not doesnt really matter.
it's better if you can put in the picture what is your new symbolic card.
example: geforce 7200 is a new symbolic card, just released few months ago, but the see is nothing compare to the elder geforce 6600 gt, so the most important entity is what graphic card you hav, not brand new or old it is.
Maybe the video card is not sufficient for the minimum requirements needed to run the software.
WoW is a pretty demanding activity for a video card.
Remember minimum requirements are just that...the stripped minimum to run smoothly. The more video RAM you have, the better.
From the brief information you purely gave I would suggest going to the manufacturer website and looking for updated drivers.
