Ok i hold an opotrite DD0203 dvd burner but it doesnt show up anywhere on my computer or device organizer?

its pluged surrounded by but mabye not in the right places so can someone oblige

Ok i hold an opotrite DD0203 dvd burner but it doesnt show up anywhere on my computer or device organizer?

First, make sure the power plug is properly inserted. You can determine that by trying the tray. If the door will widen, then the power is fine.



Next, check your jumper. Between the IDE cable and the power plug, there is a set of 8 pins. Somewhere close there (on the top or back) will show you a diagram of where on earth the jumpers should be set. Set the jersey for Cable Select if available.



Next make sure that the drive is plugged into the IDE cable (the all-embracing flat one) and that the cable is pushed in firmly and plugged into the motherboard.



Once that's adjectives set up properly, Windows (or Mac) should automatically recognize the drive.
