There are disposable wipes, if you want to spend the money.
A damp (not dripping soaked) facial towel or cotton cloth with a moment or two dab of gooey neutral hand soap or dish soap (not the dishwasher type) can do the job powerfully too.
Never use windex or other window or furniture cleaner.
If it is a tft, laptop world sell a spray or eyeshade wipes especially for them.
I use Nice 'N Clean computer/electronic wipe. You can get a tub of them at Wal-Mart for around $5. They work awfully well. :)
try newborn wipes...works great for me, (on the monitor i mean)
At the chemist you can buy hermetically sealed moistened spectacles wipes, which are also honest for camera lenses, and binoculars as well as your monitor.
