There's usually two attachments for the spacebar. Check if they're on correctly.

By hitting it tough, you may have broken the spacebar.

If it's a desktop, purely buy another keyboard.

It it's a laptop, you may entail to take it to a shop.
or freshly buy a new one, they aren't that expensive
im sorry but it would seem to be to me that if the spring on the inside is gone then you are prety much out of luck you may try i dont know rigging some sort of spring into it, personaly i would simply go but a clad keyboard from radioshack fully clad quality and not to unpromising of a price for some of the lower end ones
Most keyboards that I've open up are rubber, and it uses the elasticity of the rubber to pop back up when it is pressed. The magnet underneath the knob and the metal on the electronic board touch, thus triggering the response to the computer.

If your keyboard is jacked up, or you're missing a spring of some sort, you ought to lately buy a new the ivories. I know, it sounds like a excess, but you can get a fully clad keyboard for $10.00 these days.

Good luck.
